Liz Jones
Liz Jones has recently joined Strategy Regeneration as an associate. She has worked with Blue Ocean Strategy and Value Innovation tools since 2008 when she introduced them into Pfizer as part of a ground breaking talent development program within the European Pharmaceutical business. The program was adopted across the enterprise and generated many novel ideas.
Liz has over 30 years experience in the pharmaceutical business in both commercial roles and HR / Organizational Effectiveness. She started her career in Biochemical Research and Development.
Liz held many positions within Pfizer over 29 years her last 5 years were spent in Global Headquarters in NY having accepted a position as Director of Organizational Effectiveness for European Pharmaceutical Business. In addition to the Blue Ocean Program she designed, developed and executed a new Leadership Development program for high potentials across Europe in collaboration with INSEAD.
She was assigned a special project to introduce a new leadership model across the global commercial business and personally coached 3 of the senior leaders. Her client groups in 2009 included the corporate functions where she worked directly with SVP of Strategy and Business Development, SVP of Worldwide Public Affairs and Policy and CFO.
Her last role within Pfizer was as Senior Director Talent and Organizational Capability for Primary Care. She lead the design and execution of the talent strategy across this $22 billion business of 14,000 colleagues globally. She also lead the strategic workforce planning process in Canada, the set up of a behavioral change champion network and facilitated the senior management team to define their purpose and operating principles.
In 2005 as Organizational Effectiveness Manager within Pfizer UK she lead the HR work on design and implementation of a new regional marketing structure across Europe which introduced a new customer focus and reduced cost by 40% . She also lead the team for Best Companies to Work for and Pfizer were successfully placed in top 10.
In 2000 as HR manager and Head of Training and Development with Warner Lambert Liz was a key player on the Acquisition team and lead the talent selection and deployment process for integration with Pfizer. She applied this experience subsequently through the Pfizer acquisitions of both Pharmacia and Wyeth with leadership of knowledge transfer from key executives, talent selection process and design of onboarding for legacy colleagues.
Prior to her move into HR Liz was National Sales Manager for Warner Lambert with Profit and Loss responsibility across product portfolio and leadership of 250 colleagues. She was the lead organizer for the launch of Lipitor one of the most successful pharmaceutical products of all time.
She obtained her MBA in Leadership through Strathclyde University in Glasgow and The Leadership Trust She has a diploma in Management Studies from the Open University as well as a degree in Analytical Biochemistry from North East London Polytechnic. She is currently studying for her Certificate in Effective Organizations with Marshall School of Business at University of Southern California.
